Pearl-and-gem.com belongs to Balam SARL, an enterprise having a cultural vocation in
management of art exhibitions, and exhibition and museum boutique products.
The team is run by David Lam, head of projects and manager. His Chinese origins permit him direct contact with Pearl cultivators in China and benefit from quality sources in terms of the pearl product.
The scientific guarantee in the quality of pearls and gems is Dr. Hubert Bari, mineralogist, doctor of the University of Strasbourg and lecturer at the National Museum of Natural History Paris. He was responsible for the celebrated “Diamond” exhibition which triumphed at the National Museum of Natural History in Paris in 2001. He is seen here examining the third largest cut diamond known today: the 407-carat “Incomparable”.
Hubert Bari and David Lam published in 2007 a magnificent book on the pink pearl of the Caribbean (on sale at this site) and have in preparation the Great Book of Pearls for 2009.
